Day 3: The Rotating State Component
This component is similar to the Slide Deck, with an added auto-advance. Inside the state rotator component, you can create text specifying the timer delay, and assign it as a skin part. Check out the Slide Deck and the beginning of this series for an example.
Here is a link to the updated .fxp file. Let me know how this one works.

Could someone help me how to do it, that the scroller is loaded, or after a change in state is always the default display? Ie the initial state.
Thanks

I guess if you don’t have Pinini these turorials don’t work.

Yes, these all fall under the new custom skinnable component feature in Panini. You can download a trial version from Adobe Labs.

Hey bear
Since you’re on this topic of custom components, I wanted to ask you if it’s possible to use the Adobe FB/Flex exchange to get components there and export them as .fxpl for Panini. There are some useful custom components there but I don’t know FB well enough to figure out how to export them so that I can use Panini to assign the parts from custom artwork.

Hi there, I haven’t checked out the components on exchange. It’s possible that with a little tweaking, you could definitely bring skinnable components into Catalyst for skinning. If you’re up for it, you can explore the FXPs and FXPLs posted here in Builder to see what kind of things work in Catalyst.
